Smartphones are smarter, cheaper, thinner and more flexible than ever. So, how can they get any better? We’re about to find out as 2016 looks to be a breakout year in the US for a batch of new smartphones that will be competing for market share. 2016 is supposed to be the crossover year when even cheaper smartphones flood the US/UK market after being perfected in some supposedly Third World networks. Is there even such a thing any more? Find out with these new smartphones (with some unfamiliar brands) coming to a store near you in 2016.
ASUS Z1 Titan
Rumor Has It: The cheap and most popular smartphone sold in Asia and India is coming to the US/UK market in 2016. If so, expect it to be set at a giveaway price, if not outright free.
HTC ONE M10
Rumor Has It: The HTC ONE M10 will be shipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip.
Rumor Has It: The Nokia C1 will be the company’s first Android smartphone to enter the market.
Sony Xperia Z6
Rumor Has It: In addition to a fingerprint scanner, the Sony Xperia Z will include a retina scanner as well.
Microsoft Lumia 940
Rumor Has It: The Microsoft Lumia 940 will ship with the 20 megapixel Carl Zeiss back camera and will run on Windows 10.
Samsung Galaxy Note 6
Rumor Has It: The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 will be EXTREMELY flexible.
Rumor Has It: The Verizon entry level workhouse will include a fingerprint scanner for added security.
Samsung Galaxy S7
Rumor Has It: There will be a Super AMOLED 5.1 inch display with 4K resolution, further improving the Galaxy’s already outstanding saturation levels and outdoor visibility.
Apple iPhone 7
Rumor Has It: The Apple iPhone 7 will ship with an upgraded Apple A10 chipset processor and run on iOS 10.
